After two days of recovery, I'm finally posting my con stuff.

Although I'm repeating what others have already said, YES... I'm sad that the con's outgrown the Puck Building [but happy I got the opportunity to exhibit there] and YES... the Armory was disgustingly hot.
SATURDAY:

I was happy to be seated next to my pals in Kaiju Big Battel. They certainly put me in a better mood throughout the sweaty weekend.

I finally got to hang out with Secret Identities editors Jerry Ma and Jeff Yang [not pictured]. I'm looking forward to seeing them again at next month's Asian American Comic Con!

After the con, a bunch of us went out to Shake Shack. I'd never had the patience to wait on their infamously long lines, but I always lusted after what many claim to be "The Greatest Burger and Fries EVER".

I gotta say, the food really lived up to the hype. The fantastic company certainly enhanced the experience.

I worked off the burger/fries/shake by hoofing it over to Giant Robot's Panelists show.

The paintings by Hellen Jo and Calvin Wong were my favorites. Really wish I could've bought one or two of them.

Speaking of which, I was super-happy to meet Hellen and Calvin at the con! I've been a big fan of their work this past year and was really knocked out by the drawings they graced my sketchbook with.
SUNDAY:

Lucy Knisley is another artist whose work I recently stumbled upon. I'm amazed at the volume and quality of comics she's created in such a short period of time!

Thanks to Ad House's Free Comic Book Day, I was introduced to Lamar Abrams incredible "Remake" book. He drew this hilariously awesome Max Guy VS. Puppy in my sketchbook.

Jen Vaughn and Nathan Schreiber; Comics Bakery.

Dumbrella peeps; Meredith's snazzy cat sketch in my copy of "Octopus Pie Vol. 3".

The love child of Jor-El and Colonel Sanders.

My biggest old-school fanboy moment arrived upon meeting David Mazzucchelli. I blathered on like an idiot while the "Asterios Polyp" publishers videotaped it. Great.

I consider myself fortunate to have so many friendly, cool, and funny people stop by my table. Some even bought my comics! Amazing!

We had a surreal end to the day/con when our friend Anthony arrived in a Rockstar Games/Grand Theft Auto van to pick up the Kaiju stuff.
MY SWAG:

I luckily made enough money from selling my comics to buy other people's books w/out going broke. I was also exposed to tons of incredible new artists through minicomic trades. INSPIRATION!!!
So, MoCCA was a blast, albeit a sweaty one... although I'm a bit bummed out about not being able to stop by certain tables [Becky Cloonan, Jacob Chabot, Jess Fink, etc.] and not spending enough time at others [Comics Bakery, Zack & Steph's, ACT-I-VATE, etc, etc...]. I'm not sure if I'll be exhibiting at MoCCA next year. I may just save my cash on a table for SPX 2010 [I've never even attended SPX!].
And in case this rant wasn't enough, my complete Flickr set can be seen here.
Til' next time...
